Matthias Sauerbruch Prof. Dipl. Ing., AA Dipl., ARB (*1955, Constance) Founder and Director of Sauerbruch Hutton Matthias Sauerbruch graduated from the Berlin Hochschule der Künste and from the Architectural Association in London. Further to his work as architect and director at Sauerbruch Hutton, he has been lecturing at numerous national and international universities. Having taught at the AA School in London for 5 years, he accepted a chair for Building Construction and Design at the Technical University Berlin in 1995, and a chair for Public Buildings and Public Spaces at the Stuttgart State Academy of Arts and Design in 2001. Since 2006, he is a professor at Harvard Graduate School of Design. Matthias Sauerbruch is lecturing worldwide, and frequently serves as juror on national and international competition juries. He is a founding member of the German Sustainable Building Council DGNB and a member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts.
